The Bitcoin network excels in security and Decentralization, but its original design was not intended to meet the high speed and scalability required by modern applications. As network traffic increases, transaction fees rise and processing speeds decline, these issues are becoming increasingly prominent. It is against this backdrop that the second layer network (Layer 2) solutions have emerged, offering innovative ways to expand Bitcoin's functionality without compromising its core security features.

Layer 2 solutions refer to protocols built on top of the Bitcoin base layer (, which allow transactions to be processed off the main chain, thereby achieving higher processing efficiency. This architectural design enables the Bitcoin network to maintain the security and immutability of its base layer while enabling broader application scenarios at the upper layer.

This type of technology is evolving at a rapid pace, and it is expected that more mature Layer 2 projects will be put into practical use by 2025, bringing more possibilities and use cases to the Bitcoin ecosystem and driving the entire cryptocurrency industry forward.
