Sei Airdrop new strategy ignites a wave of enthusiasm across the Web3 network, with digital asset migration becoming key.
Sei Airdrop Sparks Widespread Discussion in Web3
The Sei Airdrop has experienced many twists and turns, from initial high expectations to controversies, and finally sparking widespread discussion across the internet. Initially, due to its substantial financing scale and backing from well-known investors, along with the official promise of testnet token incentives, it attracted a large number of users and bots to participate. Official data shows that the daily request volume on the testnet once reached tens of millions.
However, the real-name authentication requirements proposed by Sei officials subsequently caused a huge uproar. Although some platforms have begun to implement similar policies, it is still shocking for a public chain to require users to authenticate their real names, leading to strong criticism from the community. In the face of public opinion pressure, Sei ultimately abandoned this requirement.
Community sentiment is becoming calmer, and expectations for Sei are gradually cooling down. However, unexpectedly, Sei has become a new project on a certain trading platform. This news has reignited the community's eager anticipation for the Sei Airdrop.
However, Sei's official team has not released the details of the airdrop for a long time, and only published relevant information one day after the secondary market trading of the token began, causing dissatisfaction within the community.
Airdrop rules: Controversial yet attracting attention from the entire network
Testnet participants returned disappointed
The airdrop rules involve two types of user groups, but lack specific limiting conditions. Additionally, the claiming interface is only displayed on the backend and is unfinished, further increasing confusion within the community. The wave of criticism has forced the official team to close several community channels.
The airdrop targets are divided into testnet participants and active users of six major public chains. Official data shows that there are 7 million participating addresses in the testnet, with the largest witch cluster having 30,000 addresses. Robot and multi-account addresses are excluded.
In qualified addresses, users who complete all testnet tasks receive the most rewards, while addresses that complete fewer tasks only receive a small amount of tokens to cover interaction fees.
However, when qualified users inquired about the Airdrop amount, they generally felt disappointed. Users who completed all tasks only received about 60 tokens. Although more tokens can be obtained through additional tasks, the unclear rules caused many users to miss out on opportunities.
This design left the testnet participants feeling disappointed, especially in comparison to non-participating users, where the gap is more apparent.
The large-scale Airdrop has sparked widespread discussion across the network.
Apart from testnet users, Sei is focusing on airdropping to active addresses on six major public chains. The official claim is that this move will cover all corners of the Web3 ecosystem.
Subsequently, the Airdrop scope was further expanded, increasing the number of eligible wallets from 500,000 to 1.5 million, covering active users of mainstream blockchains in 2023. The rule for receiving is to transfer assets cross-chain to the Sei network.
At first, the community reacted tepidly. But when some users reported receiving 5,000 tokens, the news spread quickly and attracted widespread attention. Users continuously shared screenshots of receiving thousands of tokens on social media, spurring more people to try. This frenzy led to certain exchange-related tokens being borrowed out, with some tokens experiencing a short-term increase of up to 20%.
However, not all eligible addresses can receive the same amount of Airdrop. Users can increase the probability of receiving more tokens by adding cross-chain assets. According to community feedback, $500 cross-chain can yield 20-200 tokens, $10,000 can yield 500-5000 tokens, and $100,000 can yield 500-13000 tokens.
Due to many users having multiple eligible addresses but limited funds or unwillingness to take risks, the proxy claiming service has emerged. Participants need to stay alert to prevent asset loss risks.
Summary
Sei's airdrop strategy ultimately won widespread acclaim, attracting attention from the entire network and achieving a balance among all parties to some extent.
For testnet participants, although the airdrop results were not as expected, they also benefited from airdrops aimed at mainstream public chain users, and the grievances gradually dissipated, even joining the ranks of promotion.
For users who have not previously paid attention to Sei, this is undoubtedly a pleasant surprise. As long as risk management is done well, one can participate at zero cost.
From Sei's official perspective, this strategy has brought enormous traffic and visibility, achieving a good publicity effect. At the same time, through the actual asset transfers of users, it has increased the scale of network assets, laying the foundation for ecological development.
Currently, the Sei Airdrop is still ongoing, continuously sparking discussions and attention.
