Fed Chair Powell takes a tough stance on rate cuts in September, awaiting data evolution.

On July 31, Nick Timiraos posted on social media that Fed Chairman Powell took a "strong defensive posture" regarding whether to cut interest rates in September.

When asked the leading question, "What circumstances might trigger a rate cut in September?" Powell stated, "I won't provide a specific answer. We need to observe the evolution of the data; there are multiple possibilities. We will make decisions based on comprehensive data analysis and risk-balanced assessments."

As research companies often say: if we are hungry, we will naturally eat.
