Researcher: The solution to the Crypto Assets "Lazarus" problem may be simpler than imagined.
According to Jinse Finance, in just over 18 months, North Korean hackers, including the notorious "Lazarus" group, have stolen over $1.75 billion in Crypto Assets using the same "hijacked multisig" technology. During the same period, this figure far exceeds all other losses in the field. However, a potential solution may exist, and it is simpler than people think. Daniel Von Fange, a senior security researcher (formerly with Origin Protocol), posted on social media platform X suggesting that an additional step could be added to the typical multisignature workflow. This change will insert an unexpectedly simple "sanity check" between signing and execution for any approved operations, for final approval.
